CURRICULUM

The academic year consists of two semesters. The FALL Semester starts in mid September and ends at the end of January. The SPRING Semester starts in February and ends in early June. Teaching Farsi is preformed at three different levels:

1- Beginners: Consists of four semesters (1-4). At this stage students become familiar with the characters, alphabet, and vocabulary. At the end of this level, students should be able to read and write simple sentences.

2- Intermediate: Consists of four semesters (5-8). The students develop their vocabulary, language arts, synonyms/antonyms, basics in art of translation, comprehension and composition. At the end of this level, students should be able to read and write short texts.

3- Advanced: Also consists of four semesters (9-12). At this level students study grammar, literature and learn more about the culture, history, geography of Iran They will also develop their translation skills. At the end of this level, they should be able to translate from Farsi to English and visa versa, both in written and oral forms.

Extra Curricular Activities:
These classes are only offered at Branch I. Currently, these classes include Persian dancing, drawing, theatre and acting.
